Golden Chia (Salvia columbariea) is native to California and is not really available in stores. That is the plant you have illustrated, above.

Mexican Chia (Salvia hispanica) is the commercially available species. A separate variety of that species is known as Salba. The plant looks nothing like the one you've illustrated above.

This may be a little point, but the web is already full of enough misinformation, LOL.
