omega 3 fish oil

According to a new study, consumption of omega-3 fatty acids and omega-3 rich fish could significantly reduce the risk of developing age-related macular degeneration (AMD) by 40 per cent.

This study, published in the Archives of Ophthalmology, also adds further support for increasing the ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids with the finding that arachidonic acid (AA, omega-6 fatty acid) is associated with an increased risk of AMD. Omega 3 – Todays Medical Miracle.

Overview Of Who Can Benefit From The: Benefits Of Omega-3

Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential fatty acids: This is because your body needs them, but cannot make it — you have to get these essential fats from food sources, or supplements.

AHA Recommendation Omega-3 fatty acids benefit the heart of healthy people,
and those at high risk of — or who have — cardiovascular disease.

Omega-3 fatty acids are found in fish, the most common, salmon, tuna, and halibut, and other seafood. Omega 3 are polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), these have a crucial role in our brain function and also in normal growth and development. The American Heart Association recommends eating fish (particularly fatty fish such as mackerel, lake trout, herring, sardines, albacore tuna, and salmon) at least 2 times a week.

Research also shows that omega-3 fatty acids can reduce inflammation and also could help to lower risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and arthritis.

It is important to keep a certain balance of omega-3 and omega-6 (another essential fatty acid). Read my article about this balance: http://www.ruths-health-cafe.com/2010/06/more-about-essential-fatty-acids-and-why-balance-is-important/

Someone just emailed me and brought this tax matter to my attention, I am not a tax expert so take this as something you can look into, and not as advice.

OK, here’s the thing: Did you know that omega 3 fish oil might be tax deductible?

The IRS recognizes that fish oil can be a very powerful addition to a “chronic treatment plan”,
So during certain circumstances it can  be tax deductible.

Apparently this works two ways:
1  If your medical expenses exceed 7.5% of your total income,

2 If you have (or if you are eligible to set up) one of four specific health and medical savings accounts, you can withdraw the money to pay for your fish oil.

However, you *must* have this fish oil “recommended by a medical practitioner as treatment for
a specific medical condition diagnosed by a physician.”

Again, this is not tax advice, so ask an expert about this.

Also, according to Dr Atkins:

Essential fatty acids (EFA’s) are families of compounds of dietary fats that your own body cannot produce. These are the Omega 3 and Omega

Omega 6 is found in seeds, grains and even chicken and pigs, from they grains they eat. The American Heart Association recommends 5-10 percent of your daily calories to be omega 6, to reduce cardiovascular disease.

Both Omega 3 and 6 are needed for cells, and they should be in a certain balance. This should be Omega-6 is 2 or 3 t…o 1 of Omega 3.

Again, the problem is that Omega 6 is consumed way more than it should be, thereby, unbalancing your system. Understand the power of omega 3!

Why Quality and Purity Matter – Because PCB Could Cause Cancer

At Trilogy, we set a higher standard for all of our Sealogix products. We source our Omega-3′s from fish located in some of the cleanest waters in the world from fisheries that are renewable and fully-sustainable. The fish oil is then molecularly distilled to concentrate and purify the oil.

So, what is the #1 Question that should always be asked?

“Which fish oil should I buy?”

It’s a great question because there really are many inferior products out there, and it’s hard to find a great fish oil.

In March In the news:

*EIGHT* popular fish oil brands were found to contain excessive PCBs!

What’s a PCB? It stands for Polychlorinated Biphenyl, and it was BANNED in 1978 by the U.S. Congress because it causes cancer.

But… what should you take?

Manufacturers of fish oil are required to test each batch they produce; however, in many cases, this testing is handled by the manufacturers themselves. Often testing is conducted prior to adding flavors and bottling, so the fish oil that is tested in-house may not necessarily be the same quality of fish oil delivered to the marketplace.

In addition to the standard manufacturer testing for every batch, we have enlisted the help of IFOS (International Fish Oil Standards), a non-affiliated third party and the internationally-respected source for fish oil analysis. IFOS scientifically tests and analyzes Sealogix. This validation testing ensures that you are getting a safe and effective fish oil supplement that you can feel confident giving to your family.

Sealogix actually publishes the reports from IFO!  So you can see the results for yourself.
