The Apple Trick
In my bestseller, “Every Other Day Diet“, I recommend eating an apple…or two, or more… before you eat your “junk” meals or main evening meal.
Why?
Because studies have shown that apples inparticular cause you to eat less and feel more satisfied.
The pectin and soluble fiber in the apple and the peal is where the magic happens. When it dissolves in water, soluble fiber creates a gummy, gel-like substance that binds bile acids and draws cholesterol out of the bloodstream. Soluble fiber’s stickiness also slows the absorption of carbohydrates, keeping blood sugar levels
on an even keel.
Plus, apples require chewing. Anything you have to chew tires the jaw muscles. This signals the brain that you have eaten sufficiently. Pretty cool trick, eh?
So, an apple a day (or two… or more) keeps more than the doctor away: It keeps you from overeating and helps you burn bodyfat by regulating your caloric intake naturally. No counting required.

ps, A lot of people know that omega-3 fatty acids are a good thing, but have thought of them in the area of nutritional or health foods," said study author Dr. Carl J. Lavie, medical director of cardiac rehabilitation and prevention at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans. |
