Pay attention to your heart. It is time to become aware of all the issues that surround heart disease. I have read many times that women are at a higher risk of succumbing to Heart Disease.  Not because woman are more prone than men, although the risk factor is now equal, but, because doctors do not tend to take woman as serious as a man when it comes to heart issues.

Men in general used to be more at risk for heart disease than women.  But, equality of the sexes has now raised  a woman’s risk factor to be equal to a man’s risk factor.

There are heart diseases that we have no control over, however; there are other lifestyle issues that we do have control over.

Heart Disease is not to be taken lightly by any of us, especially those over 45. There is so much information available to us today. There are so many changes we can implement that could change the course of our life.

For instance, just because you exercise and are in good shape does NOT mean you do NOT have heart disease…if your cholesterol is high you could be at risk anyways.  Don’t take chances.  Be pro active with YOUR heart health.

Let’s all take this to heart…and stay alive and well.
