Perhaps you saw the headlines: “Just one high-fat meal can damage arteries!”

Kinda scary, isn’t it? Well, not all as it appears. While there is tremendous promise in this research, unfortunately it’s being conducted with a preconceived bias — that dietary fat is “bad” for you.
The truth is anything is bad for you in quantity, even oxygen. The truth is also that, while these studies have good intentions, they fall short of delivering what they claim: proof that fat is clogging your arteries faster than you can say “Lipitor.”

Wrong answer. The type of fat consumed, along with the carbohydrate consumed with it, is tainting these studies. However, in the most recent study on exercise and arteries, there is good stuff. I will attempt to sort out the good from the propaganda, and then let you decide. Read the whole story here, on my blog.

I read an article in one of the big magazines called – 5 Easy Ways to Keep Cancer Away

I am pretty sure we all know friends/family or associates that have cancer. I am also pretty sure that we are all a little afraid for our friends and family getting cancer every time they have to go for special tests.

And, let’s face it. A verdict of cancer will catapult you and your family into another world altogether. Terry Fox died raising millions for research.

And, one magazine knows 5 Easy Ways To Keep Cancer Away? I don’t think so. However, they may be “5 ways to give you an edge at helping you to keep cancer away”.

1- Put baby carrots, red peppers, and snap peas into a container in the fridge and snack (or graze) on them as much as you want.

2- Eat lots of fruits. Try frozen grapes as a snack in the summer heat. Take time in the day to slice and prepare a fruit plate. Snack on those along with your veggies in #1 above.

3- Lessen your red meat consumption by putting it “into” meals. Such as stir fries.

4- Don’t eat dessert. Go for a walk. We all know this one, let’ do it!

5- Beware of vitamins and supplements. Learn about them, but don’t count on them from keeping cancer away. Use them to your advantage, but not to replace the goodness your body needs for you to consume.
