1 – Change your lifestyle to include a heart healthy diet. Make your meals low in saturated fats, low in simple sugars. Include lots of vegetables and fruit.

2 – Get into the habit of exercising. Take your dogs and go for a walk.

3 – Get regular check ups. Check your “numbers” such as cholesterol, sugars,fats. Learn about these numbers. Knowledge can be your biggest ally.

4 – Eating and Exercising, both of these should control your weight. Obesity has become such a big issue in North America. Let’s take control of our heart health!

5 – Stress. Wow, this is a big one. Learn how you can manage stress. It is possible. Go for walks, go swimming, go window shopping. Engage your brain in happy activities regularly. And, if you need to, go get help!

6 – Smoking! Well, I guess we all know the pitfalls of that addiction. Not much needs to be said here.

7 – Drink Responsibly.

8 – Drink lots of water. Keep your body hydrated.

9 – Strengthen your family bonds.

10 – Get the amount of sleep YOUR body needs. If you do the above 9 tips, that should help you be able to fall asleep easier.
