Don’t use the same path or route each day. Change it. I did this when I noticed my Golden Retriever automatically knew the way of our walk. Even she must have been bored!Break your walk/run into shorter segments. Last week I had to put my Black Lab to sleep and I was devestated. I was mentally unfocused and messed up. So, I took my golden for 3 to 4 15 minute walks instead of one long one. It helped us both mentally. And physically.
Or, take a 15 minute walk at lunch, another 1/2 hour walk at night. You know what works for you…plan it!This time of year, with Christmas around the corner, park your car at the opposite end of the mall/plaza and window shop to your destination. This could be a great way to relax at Christmas, get some good ideas, and get a workout at the same time.Some days, take your kids, your dog and your spouse along. Make it a family workout and bonding time. Other days, go alone. Spend time with yourself.
It’s Fall…take your kids and your dog and play in the leaves! They both will love that.
Do any of these on a daily basis. They say it takes seven consecutive days to establish a new habit. What better habit can there be?
